John Homa, DO
President
Dr. John Homa has been working on Cape Cod as a urologist since 2005. As a founding member of the Cape Cod and Islands Physician Council and former Treasurer, he is proud to serve as the President of CCIPC. He believes strongly in building and supporting a successful and stable medical community on the Cape and Islands.

Bruce Bierhans, Esq
Vice President
Bruce Bierhans has been a business and trial lawyer for 42 years. He brings his extensive experience with non profit organizations to CCIPC. Since 2006, Bruce has been a co founder of Wellfleet Preservation Hall; a past President of Outer Cape Health Services; a past President and CEO of Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT); a past President of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod; past President of Payomet Performing Arts Center and a past President of WOMR/Outermost Radio. In addition to his service in health care at Outer Cape Health Services, he is also the co founder of Cape Wellness Collaborative, which provides funding for integrative services to cancer patients on the Cape and Islands. Bruce is also counsel to many non profits in our service area.

Mary-A. W. O'Neill, MD
Secretary
Dr. Mary-Amanda O'Neill, MD graduated from Albany Medical College in New York, in 2011. She enjoys working in the hospital, previously worked at Iora/One Medical, and now mainly focuses on medically complex patients and their primary care. As of September 2024, Dr. O'Neill is now seeing patients of all ages at the Community Health Center of Cape Cod. Prior to medical school, she was part of the engineering team on the first fast-tracked FDA CBER project, then on manufacturing drugs against multiple sclerosis and various types of cancer. She served on the Board of Directors for the Boston Chapter of ISPE, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to best practices for FDA-approved medications. She completed a Master's in Biotechnology/Project Management through Harvard, at night and on the weekends, and was motivated to go to med school by patients she met while working at Biogen. Since moving to Cape Cod to be closer to family, Mary has served on multiple committees at our local hospital, was elected to the Physician's Health Organization by the CCHC medical staff, and is a two-time winner of the Dancing with the Docs competition, which raises money for Cape Wellness Collaborative and their aims to help local cancer patients. She is passionate about physician wellness, and works for organizations that empower their staff to provide the best patient care.

Dr. Holly Zheng, MD
Treasurer
Dr. Holly Boyle Zheng is a OBGYN and surgeon at Cape Cod Healthcare, working chiefly at Falmouth Hospital.

Dr. Kristen Liska, MD
Media Director
Dr. Liska works as an attending Emergency Medicine physician at South Coast Hospital, and has been practicing since 2018. Dr. Liska received her undergraduate education at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where she double majored in Biology and Religious studies. She completed her medical degree at UMass Medical School and her graduate medical training in Emergency Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Liska then returned home to Cape Cod to work in her local community. She has a special interest in international medicine. Her passion for travel and global health led her to Mozambique where she assisted in training the first class of Emergency physicians in the country's history. She feels strongly that health and wellness extend beyond medication. True well-being comes from personal relationships, hobbies and pursuing one's passions. She looks forward to connecting with fellow practitioners on the Cape and the Islands through shared interests and activities.

Dr. Elizabeth Speed, MD
Director-At-Large
Dr. Speed is an ACOG-certified OBGYN in private practice at Falmouth Women's Health in Mashpee MA and is an Attending physician at both Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital. Originally from Needham, she attended Georgetown for English Literature and Government, before going on to UMass Medical School and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Previously she was the Director of Patient Safety and Quality at NY Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in NYC and an Assistant Professor at New York University School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center. Dr. Speed's interests include collaborative team-building, leadership and mentoring, burnout prevention and emotional resilience and healthcare advocacy for patient care.

Brian Greer
Real Estate and Director-At-Large
Brian is a Cape Cod Native and knows the how special the Cape is and how important it is to keep this community thriving. After graduating from the University of North Florida Brian became a teacher in Jacksonville, FL where he met and married his wife Sarah. Once they decided to start a family they couldn't think of a better place to put down roots than Cape Cod. Brian then transitioned into a career in real estate and now owns Greer Real Estate with offices in Barnstable and Osterville. With teenage daughters, a wife who is a teacher and a growing business, Brian knows the importance of sustaining a strong community. At the center of this and any community is education and healthcare. "I was surprised and disappointed to learn how the Cape is having a hard time attracting and retaining physicians. We Cape Codders need to help support a strong sense of belonging and community for these professionals.", said Brian.

Matthew Kalliath, DO
Membership Director
Dr. Matthew Kalliath is a specialist trained in General Surgery. He attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina, prior to attending residency at UPMC Pinnacle Commuity Osteopathic Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is well-known for his kindness and bedside manner, and believes that strong collegial bonds between physicians and surgeons improves patient care.

Daniel Arnold, MD
Director-At-Large
Dr. Dan Arnold has practiced medicine on Cape Cod since 2009. He earned a BS in Biology at Providence College and his MD at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Boston University/Boston Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident from 2008-2009. Dr. Arnold founded Primary Care of Cape Cod in 2018 and started Veritas Direct Care in 2023 in order to transition to the Direct Primary Care Model of care. He believes in the importance of developing and maintaining a strong relationship between patient and provider, while also providing prompt access, convenience, and excellent services in the practice. Moreover, he believes that everyone benefits when health care providers work directly for their patients, and not for insurance companies, the government or corporations. Dr. Arnold is also the founder of Patients Supporting Patients, a nonprofit dedicating to helping people afford high-quality, comprehensive primary care.

Alex Adduci, MD, PhD, MBA
President & Founder Emeritus
Dr. Adduci has over 20 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology. He has a strong interest in helping patients recover from injuries and return to doing the things that make them happy and healthy.

Donald A. Guadagnoli, MD
Board Member
Donald A. Guadagnoli, MD, came to Cape Cod Healthcare in 2012 as a Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer from Highlands Wellmont Health Network (HWHN) in Bristol, Tennessee. He was CEO and Medical Director for HWHN, a PHO with more than 900 physician members. In 2016, he was appointed by the University of Massachusetts Medical School as Associate Dean for Medical Education at Cape Cod Healthcare and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the medical school. In 2021 as he neared retirement he moved to a part time position as Chief Medical Officer for Falmouth Hospital. An OB/GYN by training, Don is originally from Rhode Island. He was in solo practice for 10 years and was a founding partner of a multispecialty women’s health practice. After leaving private practice in 1998, he went to work on the managed care side of medicine for CareAdvantage, Inc. He worked as a medical director and in a consulting capacity for their clients, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island from 1998 to 2002, when he left to work for Wellmont Health System at HWHN. Don's undergraduate and medical degrees are from The George Washington University, and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was at Brown University.

Mark Liska, M.D.

Mark Liska, MD is a retired dermatologist who resides in Falmouth, Massachusetts. He founded Dermatology of Cape Cod in 1992 where he practiced for 32 years along with Dr. Nancy Barnett and a host of exceptional Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, many of whom he personally trained, and several of which still carry on the tradition of exceptional care with compassion at the North Falmouth site. He is a 1981 graduate of Boston College, BS (summa cum laude) and earned in MD degree at Boston University School of Medicine (cum laude) in 1986. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center and his Dermatology Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH. His practice in Falmouth focused on the management of a broad range of medical and surgical dermatologic conditions, with a special emphasis on sun related damage and skin cancer. Outside interests include multiple sports as a player and spectator, including golf and tennis, and enjoys camping and gardening. He retired in 2023 and lives with his wife Marie, and they have two adult daughters in the medical field - Kerri, who is a practicing PA at Dermatology of Cape Cod, and Kristen, an Emergency Physician with a local group which covers several south coast hospitals.

Dr. Michael Markowski
Board Member
Dr. Markowski is a comprehensive neurologist serving the Cape Cod, Massachusetts community for over twenty years currently practicing at Spaulding Cape Cod Rehabilitation Hospital within the MGH-Brigham Department of Neurology. Prior to transitioning to Spaulding Cape Cod Hospital in 2023, he was Neurology Division Chief for Cape Cod Healthcare, where he served on the Cape Cod Hospital Medical Executive Committee and as Stroke Director. Dr. Markowski was elected to the American Academy of Neurology’s (AAN) Board of Directors in 2025 and has held various leadership roles within the AAN including chair of the General Neurology Task Force and remains engaged in the AAN’s efforts to expand the general neurology workforce. Dr. Markowski attended the College of the Holy Cross and the University of New England Osteopathic Medical School, after which he completed his neurology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center followed by an EMG/Neuromuscular Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. When not working in his neurology clinic, Dr. Markowski can be found traveling with his family, hiking with his dog, or on the pickleball court.

Thomas M. Murphy, MD
Radiologist Emeritus and Director-At-Large
Dr. Thomas M. Murphy is a radiologist emeritus, originally from Iowa. Now that he himself has retired to Cape Cod, he has a special interest in connecting the physician community together for well-being in retirement.

Mary McNair
Administrative Director
Mary McNair is the Administrative Director of the Cape Cod & Islands Physician Council (CCIPC), bringing extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic program management, governance, and organizational development. She is recognized for her expertise in quality improvement, digital strategy, and leading cross-functional initiatives that strengthen organizations and advance their missions. A Certified Governance Professional (CGP), Mary also serves as the Board Liaison at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), where she supports the Institute's governance and works alongside leadership to advance WHOI's mission of understanding the global ocean and its vital connections to the Earth's systems. A Cape Cod resident for the past 15 years, Mary is deeply committed to preserving the region's unique character and natural resources while fostering a strong, connected community. She is passionate about building partnerships that strengthen both healthcare and community organizations across Cape Cod and the Islands.
