Cape Cod & Islands Physicians Team Up to Improve Region’s Healthcare

We are honored to be featured by CAI (Cape, Coast & Islands NPR Stations) in a recent article highlighting the work of the Cape Cod & Islands Physician Council (CCIPC) and our mission to strengthen healthcare across Cape Cod and the Islands.

The article, “Cape and Islands physicians team up to improve region’s healthcare,” shines a light on the growing physician shortage affecting our region and the collaborative efforts underway to support healthcare providers, improve physician well-being, and ultimately ensure better care for local communities.

Building Connections Across Healthcare

Founded in response to increasing physician burnout, workforce challenges, and concerns about provider retention, the Cape Cod & Islands Physician Council brings together physicians and healthcare professionals from across specialties, organizations, and communities.

As highlighted in the interview, one of our core goals is simple but powerful: helping healthcare providers connect with one another.

Through networking events, educational programs, and community-building initiatives, we create opportunities for physicians to build meaningful professional relationships, share experiences, and strengthen the healthcare ecosystem across the Cape and Islands.

Since our beginnings, CCIPC has grown into a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting physicians and healthcare providers regardless of where they practice.

Our work has included:

• Hosting networking and educational events throughout Cape Cod and the Islands

• Creating opportunities for collaboration among healthcare organizations

• Supporting physician well-being and professional fulfillment

• Advocating for solutions to regional healthcare challenges

• Helping retain healthcare providers in our communities

Every physician who chooses to remain and practice in our region helps preserve access to care for thousands of local residents.
